I’ve always been a very anxious person, and I always tried to learn different ways to cope with my anxiety and that’s why, in this little article, I would like to share with you a few tips on how to decrease your anxiety, tips that I often use.

Anxiety runs in my family; I could say that almost 75% of my relatives suffer from this affective disorder.

But for me this is actually a good thing because I have a lot of people around me with whom I can share my thoughts, my feelings and even the difficulties I encounter on a daily basis because of this mood disorder.

I can say that I’ve learned from them a lot of great tips on how to decrease your anxiety, tips that I use and that offer spectacular results, even though they are so simple and so easy to follow.

1. Learn to Relax

One of the most important tips I could give you on how to decrease your anxiety is to learn a relaxation exercise and to practice it daily, and you will see that this is definitely one of the tips that always offer the best results in no time.

This type of exercise is so easy to do and it doesn’t even take so much time, maybe you will spend on it around 5-10 or even 15 minutes a day.

But it’s very important that you do this exercise every day because you will see that in time, it will be so easy for you to relax, even just by saying a certain word.

2. You Should Get Enough Sleep

If you’re feeling anxious and usually, you don’t know what the cause of that could be, it’s very important to always get enough sleep, because this is a very efficient remedy for a lot of other conditions, but especially for anxiety.

You should try to sleep at least 7 hours per night, so that your body could heal and rest. You will see that once you’ll get enough sleep, you will fell more relaxed, happier and more active. It’s such a simple thing to do!

3. Drink Some Tea!

A lot of the different types of tea have a calming effect and that’s why they represent the ideal solution to fight anxiety or even depression.

Try drinking some mint, chamomile, lime or even lavender tea because they contain all kinds of helpful substances for your nervous system and they will only do you good.

But, the best advice I could give in this matter is to see a doctor and to ask him what sort of tea he would recommend you to drink, especially if you’re on medication.

4. Eat Right!

If the most important goal you have right now is to decrease your anxiety, you should really pay attention to the things you eat and drink.

You can make such a huge difference in the quality of your life by simply trying to eat in a more healthy way, by saying no to all the processed foods, to all the fried stuff and to all the sugary snacks.

You will see how much your health will improve and this will bring so many benefits to your mental health too.

5. Try to Exercise for at Least Half an Hour Every Day

There are so many studies out there that have shown the fact that by exercising you can significantly improve the quality of your life and that sports act like a natural antidepressant by increasing the levels of the hormones responsible for your happiness.

You should do any type of exercise for at least half an hour a day, whatever you prefer, whether it’s jogging, cardio, Pilates or even walking. I must confess that I personally prefer walking and that’s my favorite type of exercise I do every day.

6. Try to do Something You like Every Day

This is a very easy thing to do. Just take some time daily from your busy schedule to do something you enjoy.

This will surely make you feel better in no time because even though you have so much work to do or things are not so great, at least for a short while, you will be happy by rewarding yourself with doing something you love, thing that will definitely make you feel better and that will brighten you day.

7. Join a Support Group or Find Someone with Anxiety

Another one of the easiest tips I could give you on how to decrease your anxiety is to encourage you to join a support group or to find people that suffer from the same mood disorder as you do, and this way, you could just share your thoughts, your experiences and most important you could learn different ways to accept the fact that you have anxiety and not to be so scared of that anymore and of course, you could learn all kinds of different ways to cope with it.
