You're going to love Invictus by William Ernest Henley.

Invictus
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever Gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley

A person-centered mentality and a will to survive means a difference in a life or death situation.

Our lives today are so convenient in many ways. The old days would look at us now as dreams they don't think would ever happen. Imagine if you couldn't express your beliefs or the hang out with the people you are following. What would you do?

If your family's life were at stake, what would you do? We don't go through this life without troubles; that makes us human and makes us grow. The old days may be hard but they have the peace of mind that most of us in the modern world don't have.

We are consumed with everything that is on the market. Yes, we all need money, we've got bills to pay, but some people took it over the top. More competition, more wants, and it's a never-ending cycle that you are not happy or satisfied with.

It's easy to get lost in this world, finding yourself and mastering it. Patience and perseverance are important as you keep going even if you feel that you are crumbling. We all go through the pit, as dark as a hole. How you get out is the journey you may tell.

But when it feels so hard, you want to punch someone, but you hang on to your values because you know there is far more coming to you.
