Don't Believe These False Facts about Makeup ...

We can all be misguided and just like any other area of health and beauty, there are false facts about makeup that misdirect us. The problem that lots of women encounter is that each person does things differently, and each person believes lots of different things!

The complicated nature of perfecting your own makeup routine can lead to the creation of lots of different myths, and you know what they say about myths - hardly any of them are actually true!

If you are feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the makeup world and want to know what you should be adhering to and what you should be ignoring, then here are some false facts about makeup that you definitely shouldn’t believe!

1. Conceal Your Eyes First

One of the most taught makeup rules is that you should apply concealer to your under eyes to get rid of those unsightly bags before you do anything else, but this isn’t the case.

It can be a big time saver to do the rest of your eye makeup first and then come back to concealing your bags. It has the bonus of enabling you to clean up anything that may have fallen into that area when applying above.

2. Dark Brows Are Good for Everyone

There is some sort of belief out there that dark brows are the way to go for everyone, but you shouldn’t believe it!

If you have wonderful dark hair, then sure, go ahead and darken up your brows to match, but if you are of a lighter complexion and colouring, then painting on dark brows is only going to make you stand out in an odd way.

Always look at your own colouring and find a shade that works for you personally, don’t just go along with the latest trend.

3. Foundation Brushes Are Vital

You might be told by some people that owning a foundation brush is an absolute must when it comes to makeup application, but we really don’t think that’s the case anymore.

The truth is that there are plenty of other tools that are effective for daily foundation application, ranging from beauty blenders to women who swear by using their own fingers for a tactile touch!

Just find what tool works for you and it might not be a brush after all.

4. Never Apply Makeup with Fingers

And expanding on the point above about those who choose to use their fingers for foundation, don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you can’t apply makeup using only your hands, because you definitely can!

When you know what you’re doing, your fingers can be as good as any beauty tools available in stores. Things like liquid foundation and cream blushes actually suit this sort of application, so it really depends what kinds of makeup you like to use.

5. Order Doesn’t Matter

Don’t believe people who tell you that order doesn’t matter when it comes to putting makeup on.

According to beauty experts, the correct order goes something like this, active ingredients closest to the skin, and then layer your aesthetic products from lightest layer to heaviest!
